Center

Role: The centre is responsible for taking faceoffs and covering the middle of the ice at both ends of the rink. They typically skate greater distances than other positions as they play deep in both the offensive and defensive zones.

Skill-Set:

​

1) Great skater

2) High hockey IQ

3) Devotion to defence 

4) Good passer 

5) Good stamina

Wingers (Right and Left)

The centre is flanked on the right and left by wingers, who generally play along the boards on their respective sides of the ice. They are primarily relied upon as goal scorers. In the defensive zone the wingers are tasked with covering the defensemen at the blue-line (AKA the point).

1) Good scoring ability 

2) Good skating ability (high speed)

3) Good high-eye coordination

4) Quick stick-handling ability 

5) Good vision
